It will be what we make it, Lisbon
[12 October – 02 December 2007, Alkantara, Lisbon] In a building recently made available by the City of Lisbon, Alkantara will be creating a new cultural space over the next few years. A meeting place for artists from Portugal and abroad and for the population of Lisbon. Before starting off with bank loans, architectural plans, construction works, equipment lists, organigrams and programming calendars, Alkantara want to experiment the potential of the space – in the unmarked state it is now – and take some time to think about its possible roles in the local and international arts scene and the cultural life of the city.
STEALTH is joining the three weeks process through which an international group of theoreticians and artists from various domains (theatre, dance, music, literature, architecture,…) brought to work together in the future space of Alkantara. It will be what we make it is at the same time a reckless leap into the immediate and a metaphor for a future space to build.
