[December 2006 – Spring 2007] In Knivsta, about an hour north from Stockholm, the design for a school area is under way. The newly laid out public zone will triple as a playground, as a connection between parts of the municipality and as a pilot project for urban energy generation. For the last, research is now being made into the possibilities of wind energy ‘farming’ (generation) in this area. The energy generated will be used for illumination of the area during the Swedish winter times, while left over energy can be used by the neighboring school. The project is conceived by the architect/artist Marjetica Potrc and STEALTH, in collaboration with landscape architect Ingalill Nahringbauer. Medio February 2007 the first plans will be presented.
